WOOD WORKING |
The wood, very important natural resource obtained from wide woods of conifers, is always employed for various uses by small alpine community of Rabbi.
There are two ancient Venetian saw - mills for the cutting of trunks which are still working. They exploit the energy developed by impetuous waters of
Rabbies.

The handle split of "scandole" has also a long tradition. The "scandole" are small board of valuable larches used for covering rustic's roofs and even today "baite" which are typical houses obtained by rebuilding alpine huts which have maintained the original architecture and the employment of building
materials.

The ancient artisan's trade of wood becomes a real art that expresses above all the Christian Faith deeply felt by the alpine community and that imprints the mark in the historical crucifies which appear in many villages. Young talents are still inspired by devotional subject of cross which appears on the bell - towers of the churches, at the cross roads and along the mountain tracks till to reach the top of high mountains.
