Stelvio National Park is situated in the Ortles - Cevedale mountains and covers an area of 1340 square kilometres.
The great part of the valley is included in the large Stelvio National Park that extends in the area of the Central Alps and that comprehends little villages, valleys, forests, glaciers of Trentino Alto Adige and Lombardia.

In this Park there are a lot of wild protected animals, for example the deer, the roe deer, the chamois, the ermine, the marmot, the wood grouse and the royal eagle symbol of the Stelvio Park. If you are lucky you can run into these animals during the excursion with the Park Guides in particular during the faunistic excursions or in the routes that propose to follow the tracks of the deer .

The Park safeguards all the alpine environment preserving and studying the ground, the minerals, the rocks, the streams, the various trees, and the innumerable flowers and plants. Thanks to these activities you can discover the story of the Rabbi valley analysing exceptional monuments like the secular larches of Val di Saent. The Park also intends to conserve the typical architectonic structures of the rural housing and all buildings used for the typical artisan activities like sawmills, dairies, "malghe" (mountain dairies) trying to keep alive the ancient traditions. 

In Rabbi are organized guided tours of the venetian sawmill perfectly operative and there are visits to the dairy of Somrabbi recently restructured and now used like a museum when you can admire the ancient tools used for the processing of milk. Besides it is possible to look for the working of the dairyman "casaro" in the Malga Monte Sole on the high pastures where in the summer live a few of cows.
