  • Location: Rabbi
  • Starting point: Fontanon car park.
  • Starting and finishing altitude: 1,549 m
  • Highest point: 2,053 m.
  • Time required: 3 hours.
  • Difficulty: medium.

The walk begins at the Fontanon car park (1,549 m) which is accessible in summer by car, taking the first road on the left after the Terme di Rabbi. As soon as you get out of your car you will find yourself immersed in a typically Alpine landscape: larch and spruce pine forests, broad pastures with grazing animals.

Set off in the direction of Malga Cercen Bassa (1,969 m), then follow the road to Malga Villar Bassa (2,015 m) from where a footpath leads to Malga Fassa and Malga Monte Sole Alta (2,053 m). This is the highest point of the route, from where there is a tremendous view over the beautiful Cercen and Rabbi valleys. Return along the old herder’s track to the bottom of the valley at the Fontanon car park.
