On the green fields that cover the slopes and the valley floor it is possible to see the traditional farmsteads, precious examples of authentic farmers architecture some of which are nowadays carefully renovated as residential buildings maintaining the original features. The rural landscape of Val di Rabbi is indeed characterized by those traditional building scattered throught the vally that covers most of the territory from the valley floor to the forest start. These buildings are composed by a wooden highest part, originally the barn, and of a stone base with the farm.
A comfortable street along the Rabbies river, goes through the valley, in an appealing and evocative environment. The principal street is about 10km long, from the first village of the valley, Pracorno (855 m), reaching the main village San Bernardo (1,098m), and then Rabbi Fonti (1,240m) with the Thermal Spa and the National Park visitors centre, to Piazzola (1,314m), a little village in a sunny position where houses are scattered thoughout the slopes.
Around Val di Rabbi there are other mountain valleys: val Cercen, val di Saent, val Saleci, val Maleda, val Zambuga, valle Soprassasso that goes high till the alpine crossing places that permits to reach Val di Sole, Val di Pejo, Val Martello (BZ), Val d’Ultimo (BZ) and Val di Bresimo.
