The route begins at the Cavallar parking area (1,450 m), located above the small hamlet of the same name. It climbs along a forest road with a moderate incline, winding through a beautiful larch forest before reaching the wide alpine meadows surrounding the mountain huts.
Upon reaching Malga Artisè–Terzolasa (1,894 m), hikers are rewarded with a stunning panoramic view over the Rabbi Valley and the surrounding peaks. The road ends here, giving way to a flat path through the woods leading to Malga Cespedè–Samocleva.
Following the ridges descending from Cima del Sas Forà, and passing through the wide basin of Lago Corvo, you’ll arrive at Malga Paludè Alta–Caldesa Alta (2,021 m). This is a breathtaking spot with sweeping views over the Rabbi Valley and the distant Dolomites.
On the way back down, an old mule track leads to Malga Paludè Bassa–Caldesa Bassa (1,835 m), and from there, through forests and open spaces, you return to the Cavallar parking area.
The route can be shortened by skipping Malga Paludè Alta and instead taking the forest path from Malga Cespedè directly to Paludè Bassa.
