Park your car in the Al Plan area and initially follow a trail between typical wooden huts, then continue along the forest road marked towards Malga Fratte. After passing Malga Fratte with its meadows, continue along the forest road, which becomes increasingly quieter, and the surrounding environment will give you a pleasant feeling of well-being. After about 4 kilometers of walking, you will reach Malga Maleda Bassa, and here we suggest a break. Get closer to the beautiful wooden bridges to better admire the Maleda Valley Waterfalls, which will suddenly appear before you (though you'll see them from afar), offering you a delightful surprise. Continue along the forest road, which becomes steeper as it ascends the slopes descending from the peaks of Val Maleda. Along the way, you will naturally want to take breaks to admire the landscape: take your time to fully breathe in the beauty, until you reach the mountain hut, where delicious traditional dishes await you in a spontaneous and warm atmosphere.
The trail is entirely on a forest road with no turns or intersections. If you prefer, from Malga Maleda Bassa, you can take a path through the forest that leads to Malga Stablaz, cutting across the switchbacks. Since it is quite steep, we suggest keeping it as an alternative for the descent.
